Welcome to this dedicated Derby Festival of Science and Engineering site, where you can find out about a whole host of exciting events happening in schools and at public venues in and around Derby. The Festival coincides with National Science and Engineering Week, a ten-day national programme of science, technology, engineering and maths events and activities across the UK.

Derby is the UK’s Hi-Tech Capital and one of the worlds leading engineering cities making it an ideal time to celebrate the people, technical heritage and exciting developments happening in the city today.  The events aim to inspire people who live and work in Derby.  In particular it is a chance to let young people know about the exciting developments that are happening on their doorstep and the opportunities locally for careers in science and engineering.

SA_Logo.jpgIn Derbyshire there are over 900 people working in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths who volunteer to work with young people from 5 to 19 in schools, colleges and the community. They are brilliant role models, insipring young people to think widely about the STEM subjects and to consider following a career in the area. If you are interested in becoming A STEM Ambassador, please contact Beverly Blackwell on for more information.
